Tipping

It is much more the custom to tip in the USA, a lot of the staff in bars and restaurants rely on tipping to make up their wages.

Example percentages are

Bar staff $1-2 per drink (or 10%-15% of the bill)

Waiting Staff 10% if you are unhappy, 15% is OK 20% happy 25% exceptional

Taxi’s 10%-15% depending on level of service

Hairdressers / manicurists 10%-20%

Tour Guides  10%-20% depending how knowledgable/friendly they are.
